Located 750 meters above sea level, the city experiences cooler year-round temperatures than most cities in Indonesia, hence its reputation for having ‘the best climate in Indonesia’. The city itself is surrounded by dormant volcanic mountains, and dotted with beautiful art deco buildings – a legacy of Dutch colonial times.
